How did you end up at Medisol?

I started at Medisol in 2012 because of my interest in cardiology, technology and sales from previous jobs and studies. It’s been a great journey to take the AED out of the medical setting and make it available via e-commerce.

What is your role at Medisol?

COO and co-owner. I am responsible for all operations of Medisol. I coordinate the tasks of the Management Team, Quality Department, Software Development and Project & Processes. I have a particular interest in driving innovation. With our cross-border e-commerce approach, we have always been pioneers in the market. More recently the Medisol Service Center and the Service Portal was added to the list and some nice renewals are coming up. In my role, I can directly contribute to making the AED easier accessible and in good condition, so it’s always ready to save a life.

Next to my work at Medisol, I’m secretary at the Saving Lives Foundation that I founded with Pieter Joziasse (CEO of Medisol). The Saving Lives Foundation helps non-profit organizations by donating AED’s if they don’t have the funds themselves.

What does an average day at Medisol look like?

Frequent, but short meetings with departments and management to make sure operations run smooth. Interesting discussions about developments, sales opportunities and projects with colleagues from the internal organisation, but also with customers, suppliers and other (business)partners. A lot of talking 😀

What drives you? Why do you do this job?

Most medical devices have been designed for use by medical specialists. The AED is one of few medical devices with live-saving abilities that anyone can use; anyone can save a live. I have a strong passion to make the AED available to anyone. This reflects in Medisols ultimate goal: by 2030 every world citizen has access to an AED in 6 minutes.
