How did you end up at Medisol?
Pieter (CEO of Medisol) asked me to come and work for the company.
What is your role at Medisol?
I am a Senior Software Developer, or Technical Specialist. This means that I am involved in all technical matters surrounding the websites and webshops.
Furthermore, the software development of new webshop modules and further development of existing business are also part of my job, so that our webshops become better and more efficient for our customers.
What does an average day at Medisol look like?
That differs per day and week. We work with a large backlog with tasks that are picked up on the basis of priority. Sometimes it means that you work on small improvements to the webshop, but regularly I work on tasks that take several days. Consider, for example, a webshop module so that employees can easily adjust product prices in all sotres.
Every week, we consult with colleagues about improvements and adjustments to the webshops.
I start fairly early in the morning to get started for a few hours, then we have a stand-up meeting at 09.00 to discuss current affairs. The afternoons are very different. For example, we work on future plans at fixed times, which are sometimes only rolled out in a year.
What drives you? Why do you do this job?
In the IT field, everything has to run smoothly, both for the customer and internally for my colleague. It is important to me that everyone can work as efficiently as possible with the webshops and that everything works and continues to work technically. We are going to take major steps in this area the coming years, it is a great challenge to lead this in the right direction.
What result that you have achieved at Medisol are you proud of?
We have been able to achieve great results in the efficiency of the work in a short time, because we make the transition to Agile working with the IT team. This gives a good overview of the current projects, what we have completed and what is on the schedule.
In addition, we have also been able to make nice improvements in the webshops so that our customers are better served and our employees can work more efficiently.
What makes it so much fun to work at Medisol?
Everyone is very motivated! We work with a pleasant team of colleagues. The mutual contact is very good and the organization is very open. You can always bring your own ideas and everyone works hard to achieve great results. The working atmosphere is therefore very good.
